So when our friend JCB was chatting us up for a piece she was working up, we at Halter Hotties knew we’d be seeing ourselves in print at some point in the future. But we’ve been so busy creating and brainstorming that we were caught off guard when we opened the summer issue of South Sound Magazine and saw ourselves in living color and nearly larger than life.
We’re so grateful for Jeff Hobson’s amazing images and the words Jessica Corey-Butler wrote, but mostly we’re speechless in awe of the beautiful spread SSM did on us.
We blush with embarrassment (but we love, love, LOVE ! it!!!)
Thanks, Lisa Patterson et al, for all you’ve done and for all you do in putting together a great local product with and for real south sound-ers!!

Halter Hotties Sighting, Tacoma-style!

Just in case blue-sky sightings weren’t enough to excite us here in Halter Hotties-land, here’s another reason to squeal with joy: we spy Play Time on Sixth Avenue in Tacoma!!
To be more specific, style maven Ondia Shapiro has picked the Halter Hotties line up at Vixens, and has dressed up her window with our Play Time top. Newly moved to 2614 6th Ave. Tacoma, WA (across the street from its former location), Vixens is packed to the brim with sexiness, and we’re happy to note that our brand of sass fits right in!
(And now, we must sign off… We feel a sudden urge to go shopping…)

Halter Hottie Honeymoon:  Matches made in Heaven!

When our long-time good friend Kate Shanaman met and married her soul mate Ron Swarner, we at Halter Hotties World Headquarters felt all kinds of warm and fuzzy inside.
We’re suckers for perfect matches, and Ron and Kate just work together like champagne and caviar. And when we found this snapshot in our email inbox, we felt like the circle of love was even more complete: truly, the vibe of the Palm Springs Riviera makes our Halter Hottie glow. We also love how Kate’s low-slung belt matches the slow and easy lounge-y feeling (and covet that couch!)

Halter Hotties + Hottie Firemen = Combustible Fun at the NW Women’s Show March 5-7!!

So what do we at Halter Hotties think is so cool about the Northwest Women’s Show happening March 5- 7 at the Qwest Field Event Center?

Psychics. Life-Coaches. More Health, Wellness, and Beauty advice and goodies than you can shake a mascara wand at. Add a fashion show featuring scantily clad hottie Firefighters, and we are so there!

Actually, we really will be there, and are getting revved and ready! We’ll be there open to close, all three days, sharing space with some of our new best friends from Ladies Who Launch (booths #506/508/510) and we can’t wait to see you there and let you see, feel and try on a Hottie for yourself (one of our fabulous halter tops, not a fireman.)

Old Meets New: Rose-colored Nostalgia goes Halter Hotties!!

By now you probably get it already: We at Halter Hotties bring you fashion goodness in the form of silky-sexy, elegant, one-of-a-kind halter tops crafted from vintage scarves and featuring embellishments like silk cording, lining, and sashes, as well as buttons that whisper nostalgic notions.
For Red Roses, one of the pieces from our Valentine Collection, we took that nostalgia and placed it front and center. The 1980’s-era Vera scarf reminds us of courting in the garden, of our first Prom corsage, and of bouquets gifted in the spirit of good ol’ St. Valentine. Sure, we loved those old rituals, but these days it’s so much more fun to wear your roses with an element of sex and surprise, than to clean up dead stalks from the vase and tabletop! And, since we’ve grown up since Prom, we appreciate that this blouse has a decidedly grown up (and ever-so slightly wicked!) sensibility we can share… that flare of heat from the red sash and that slow, delightful burn as we reveal our bared back.
Sometimes, giving the gift of roses is better than getting it!

Halter Hotties Focus on LA, and the FOCUS trade show at the CMC

Excitement is building to white-hot in Halter Hottie World Headquarters. Yes, we love jet-setting about the globe, and heading to our favorite big cities. Yes, we love spreading the Halter Hotties love. Yes, we love going to places where retail thrives. When faced with the prospect of doing all three together, like right now, we fairly scream, “yes, Yes, YES!!”
We’re off to the California Market Center, or “the CMC”, where, year-round, thousands of product lines all get together in showrooms and seasonal trade shows for wholesalers to peruse ‘til their feet are battered in their Jimmy Choos. Our destination is the Penthouse, where the FOCUS Apparel and Accessories Show will be housed. This particular segment of the hu-normous Los Angeles Fashion Market puts an emphasis on “indie-spirited, design-focused contemporary collections” (does that describe Halter Hotties or what!??)
Apparently, the fine FOCUS folks are excited about us, too! We show up in their blog (thanks, guys!) only a couple entries away from Althea Harper from our fave show Project Runway.
Our heads spin, truly they do.
But for now, focus we must: destination FOCUS is in our sights!!

We’re Heatin’ Up at Halter Hotties!!

Sure, most of the world is facing a weird cold snap, but here at Halter Hotties world central, we’re starting to feel real heat!

Even as we’re working up exciting new collections (think Mardi Gras and Valentines, baby!) and loving the improvements to our website (check out the new home page here) we’ve got some bigger goings on in the horizon: We’ve been invited to show at the “FOCUS Apparel and Accessories Show” during the Los Angeles Fashion Market January 16, 17 and 18.

We’re stoked to be LA bound, for sure, but complacency is so not our style… Instead we’re busy working up a sweat, tagging, bagging and packing up, getting ready to go share the Halter Hottie lovin’ in a major way!

A New Years Toast to Etsy from Halter Hotties

What an honor, thank you Etsy! Returning last night after ringing in the New Year with wonderful lifelong friends, I was delighted to find that our ‘Burnished Metals’ Halter Hotties silk top along with other beautiful creations were bringing in the New Year in their own style. They had been featured on the Etsy front page at the stroke of midnight ~ And, lucky for me, a fantastically crafty website captured it for us, thank you Craft Cult! Halter Hotties Beg the Questions:  “What Are You Doing On New Year’s Eve?”

We’re feeling sultry at Halter Hotties Central right now. There’s a sense of relief that all the holiday mania has ended, but there’s a sense of melancholy hiding out… Dark days and long nights can make us moody, after all, and we recognize that the year is fading to a close.
We cast eyes on our favorite Mr. Hottie and begin to hum a tune, then sing the words, “What are you doing on New Year’s Eve?”
He knows us well, and he knows how to make our sad eyes light up.
He hands us a present, after all the other boxes and tissue paper have disappeared. “Gilt Opulence” finds its way into our fingers, and the light dawns that what we’re doing for New Year’s Eve and into the wee hours of the New Year will be opulent, celebratory and naughty good times indeed.

High Fashion, meet Halter Hotties! Our halter tops heat up the St Louis Runway for Fashion Week!

A few of our Halter Hotties traveled to the chilly Midwest to join up with the likes Black Halo, Cloak & Dagger, Love Brigade, Bolongaro Trevor’s, Wrath Arcane, Amy Johnson, and Lori Coulter.

Forget about our immersion in Halloween festivities: spring was in the air, if only near the runways as the looks paraded forecast a leggy, colorful season coming up.Our halter tops traveled the runway with Mary Jane’s at Current, whose sass and sex appeal are a marvelous match-up for the heat of Halter Hotties.
Our Orient Express halter top looked stunning paired with a tailored skirt and fabulously chunky-heeled, strappy shoes; bare legs gave a sunny, warm look while a black lariat choker/necklace pulled in the black from the skirt.

St Louis was a great opportunity for us; the show features a cutting-edge, indie spirit and brought to light a couple of kindred spirits: Wrath Arcane, will you be our boyfriend? We’ll match up our Halter Hottie with some well-worn denim and we can take our mutual environmentally sensitive, made-in-the-USA vibe to the streets together. And Lori Coulter, wanna be a Halter Hottie BFF? Your deliciously body-baring custom-made bathing suits can hang with us poolside anytime!!

Our little Hotties are hot in Park City and we’re so thrilled that they’re sharing space with designers like Jeffrey Campbell, Corry Lynn Calter and Michael Stars. Some mighty fine company to be in at Mary Jane’s hip boutique which caters to celebs like Lindsay Lohan, Jessical Biel, and Kyra Sedgewick. Here’s hoping that one of them takes a liking to one of our tops! And dare we say that boots and a halter are a great fashion statement?

Halter Top Honeymoon: “Graffiti Girl” Goes to Puerto Rico

Hi Kim,

Well, I’m back from the most perfect, beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to! Lucky it was my own! …I am also sending you two pictures of me in the Halter Hottie (also taken with an iPhone). The pictures aren’t great because we took them fairly quickly before we left PR (I had forgotten to do it the day I actually wore it which was the morning after the wedding). But I really love it and will wear it more as the weather in New York gets warmer! I felt so sexy in it! Thank you for everything! I love your work!
